蘋果公司十周年，今年特別推出iPhone 8、iPhone 8 Plus，以及iPhone X三款新機，其中iPhone 8及iPhone 8 Plus都已在上月先行開賣，但銷量不如預期。因此，許多電信業者都相當看好即將在下月3日開賣的iPhone X，但卻傳出初期供貨量可能不足。

此次蘋果推出的iPhone X，主打超高規格，單機售價就要價新台幣3萬5900元起跳，盡管價格高昂仍吸引不少果粉關注，電信業者因此預期iPhone X開賣後將有亮眼銷量，蘋果官網也已公告將在本月27日展開預購，下月3日正式開賣。

市場推估，iPhone X國內電信首波預購應會達到40萬至50萬支的訂單量，但因iPhone X製程屢傳問題，有電信業者高層就認為iPhone X初期可能會供不應求，到貨量僅有1至2成，也就是說，若首波預購訂單為40萬至50萬支，初期到貨量可能只會有4至5萬支，部分業者對此感到擔憂，深怕屆時又會上演iPhone 6開賣時的缺貨潮。為此，多數業者也表示要再觀察到貨情況，以決定是否舉行預購。
